Product Features

Adhesive PET high temperature tape: has certain high temperature resistance, can withstand high temperature of 280°C, and has a relatively low price. However, its chemical resistance is weak, and performance may deteriorate in some chemical reagent environments.

PI high temperature tape: has excellent high temperature resistance, can work for a long time in an environment of 260°C, and can withstand higher temperatures instantly. It has good electrical insulation and chemical stability, but its cost is relatively high.

Kapton high temperature tape: has excellent high temperature resistance, can withstand high temperature of up to 300°C, has high mechanical strength, strong chemical resistance, and good flexibility, can adapt to the bending requirements of FPC, but the price is also high.

Application scenarios

Adhesive PET high temperature tape: suitable for FPC application scenarios with low temperature requirements and strict cost control, such as ordinary FPC in some consumer electronic devices.

PI high temperature tape: commonly used in FPCs with high requirements for electrical insulation and chemical stability, such as FPCs of engine control units (ECUs) in automotive electronics.

Kapton high temperature tape: Mainly used in FPCs that require extremely high temperature resistance, mechanical strength and flexibility, such as FPCs in aerospace and high-end electronic equipment.

Customer Cases

When a consumer electronics manufacturer was producing mobile phone FPCs, it initially used Adhesive PET high temperature tape, which could meet basic production needs. However, some FPCs debonded during high temperature environment testing. Later, PI high temperature tape was used. Although the cost increased, the reliability of FPCs was greatly improved, and the qualified rate of products in high temperature environments increased from 60% to 89%. When an aerospace company was manufacturing FPCs for aircraft, it chose Kapton high temperature tape to ensure the stable performance of FPCs in extreme environments and the safe operation of aircraft.

Technology Comparison

Comprehensive comparison shows that high-temperature tapes of different materials have their own advantages and disadvantages in the FPC field. Manufacturers should choose appropriate tapes according to specific application requirements.
